This was the first solo exhibition of my art practice, a culmination of half of a year of living in my small hometown of Shrewsbury, reflecting on what it is to be English and creating works that would express those complex emotions in meaningful ways.

The core of the exhibition was initially based off of a series in which I edited old found photos and paintings to be happy if they were sad and even the origins of this were running famous Nuremberg trial photos through sentiment analysis to see the percepted emotions of those on trial. This series was named 'Infallible Memory' and it was aimed to create the past that the conservative right often romanticises, willing ignorance of the troubles that plagued the nation in the past also. The kind of ignorance that has allowed people in 2025 to start to support the Nazi ideology once more.

Wall of Old Speckled Hen, "Distinctively" English Pale Ale

My Time Will Come, 2025
Below are photos from the opening night. I gave my camera to various people in the night in efforts to capture a more natural aspect of the evening.
Eschewing the usual trend of sipping champagne, I chose to make the refreshments part of the show, by serving only Old Speckled Hen, a distinctive red and white can. If we lost diversity and progression in this country, all we would have to drink are English Pale Ales.
You can view all the photos here.
